Noel Voltz Interviewed On Challenges Of Being a Professor of Color
Professor Noel Voltz was recently interviewed by the Chronicle of Higher Education
to speak to her experiences and unique challenges on being a professor of color in
academia. She speaks about her decision to join the University of Utah, and how the
choice was complicated by her wishes to serve underprivledged students at smaller
universities, and also have the resources necessary to achieve her full potential
as a researcher and book author. Professors of color often face such dilemmas in ways
other professors do not, and the article interviews several academic women about the
choices they had to make, and what made them select the path they ultimately took.
