Eric Hinderaker, Chair and Professor of History, is being honored with the University
of Utah’s prestigious designation of “Distinguished Professor.” This appointment was
recommended by the U’s Distinguished Professors and approved by President Ruth Watkins.
Hinderaker is an incredible asset to the College of Humanities, and this distinction
is well-deserved for his contributions to the college and the greater University.
Hinderaker’s research specialties include early Anglo-America with particular interest
in comparative colonization, European-Indian relations, and the nature of early modern
