Eric Hinderaker Named Distinguished Professor
Eric Hinderaker, Chair and Professor of History, is being honored with the University of Utah’s prestigious designation of “Distinguished Professor.” This appointment was recommended by the U’s Distinguished Professors and approved by President Ruth Watkins. Hinderaker is an incredible asset to the College of Humanities, and this distinction is well-deserved for his contributions to the college and the greater University.
Hinderaker’s research specialties include early Anglo-America with particular interest in comparative colonization, European-Indian relations, and the nature of early modern empires.
The rank of Distinguished Professor is reserved for individuals whose achievements exemplify the highest goals of scholarship as demonstrated by recognition accorded to them from peers with national and international stature, and whose record includes evidence of a high dedication to teaching as demonstrated by recognition accorded to them by students and/or colleagues.
