Bradley Parker, Associate History Professor and Archaeologist, Dies at 56

With heavy hearts, we share the news that our colleague Dr. Bradley Parker passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, January 5th, 2018. Dr. Parker was attending the annual meeting of the Institute of Andean Studies in Berkeley and preparing for a sabbatical abroad in Berlin.

His loss to the department, the university, and the academic community is incalculable. Dr. Parker was a beloved teacher, an extraordinary scholar, and a dear friend. He was deeply passionate about his work and brought that excitement to the classroom. He spent some of his final days before departing for Berkeley writing recommendation letters, a perfect illustration of Dr. Parker’s concern and support for his students.

Dr. Parker is survived by our colleague, Professor Janet Theiss, and their daughter Tabitha.
